Sarah Elnora "Pudy" Williams, 89, who died Sunday, December 2, 2001, at West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, were held Wednesday, December 5, at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Bagby officiated at the services. Music was provided by Barbara Marvelli, vocalist and Jim Kidder, organist.

Interment was at Zion Cemetery in Pershing. Casketbearers were Fred, Gerry, Frank, Phil, Dennis and Howard Williams.

Sarah was born on February 23, 1912 in Hines, the daughter of George and Lilly Ethel (Sparks) Leggett. She was raised in the Pershing area and attended Attica school.

She married Donald Williams on October 25, 1930 in Unionville, Mo. To this union eight children were born.

Sarah was a homemaker and had worked several years at the Pella Overall Factory. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and watching a good basketball game.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, Sr.; a son, Donald, Jr. and two sisters, Lena Pregon and Phyllis Leggett.

She is survived by six sons, Dennis of Harvey, Howard "Gig" of Melcher, Phillip of Harvey, Frank of North English, Iowa, Fred of Des Moines and Gerry of Pershing; a daughter, Vernie Ellis of Richardson, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Bev Williams of Pershing; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Fire & Rescue Unit, National Parkinson Foundation or Community Action Van Service.

Arrangements were made by Bybee & Davis Funeral Home.
