Ted Nossaman, son of John Carlos and Mary Gilderbloom Nossaman was born Aug. 22, 1905. On Oct. 20, 1928, he married Edith Harvey in Winnetka, Illinois. They had five children. Mr. Nossaman was a lifelong resident of Tracy, Leighton, and surrounding areas. He was employed by the Chicago Railroad at one time and in 1930 he started farming on the home place in Mahaska County, which was still his residence at the time of his death. He was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church.
Mr. Nossaman is survived by his wife, Edith, three sons, Harvey Lee of Leighton, Larry Dean of Knoxville, and Kenneth Edward of Pella, two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mary Louise) Roush and Mrs. Billy (Wilma Jean) Brown of Oskaloosa; sister Isabel Bonine of Duncan, Arizona; thirteen grandchildren: Ted Roush and wife Wanda; Deanna Roush, Cheryl Wissler and her husband Allen, Brian Brown and wife Shari, Kevin Brown; Richard, David, Vincent, Brett, Stacy, Linda, Susan and Julie Nossaman; five great-grandchildren Valerie, Andrea, Allison Roush, Ryan and Joey Wissler.
He was preceded in death by parents and one grandchild, Kelli Jean Brown.
Services were held, Monday, January 16, 1984 at the Tracy United Methodist Church, Tracy, Iowa. The Rev. Dennis McMillan and the Rev. Norman Schouten officiated the burial at Portergrove Cemetery, Leighton Iowa.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
