Gertie Bensink, daughter of Delos Van Zante and Agnes Van Howeling, was born on July 12, 1886 and died on September 25, 1951 at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 12 days.
She was united in marriage March 1912 to Arie G. Bensink of Pella who preceded her in death on September 19, 1951. To this union was born three children, Agnes, Mrs. Martin Slykhuis, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1947; Wilma, Mrs. William Verwers, of Otley; and Gradus of Pella.
She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Pannekoek, Mrs. Alida Walraven, both of Pella and Mrs. Dickie Boot of Prairie City. Two Brothers, Albert and Tone of Otley also survive as do ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
She made her confession of faith at an early age at the Reformed church of Otley. Later she transferred to Bethel Reformed church, when she was married and then to 1st Reformed of Pella.
Mrs. Bensink lived her faith and was loved by everyone who knew her. she also leaves to mourn her departure a host of friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 25, 1951 at 1:00 from the Co-operative Garden Chapel and at 1:30 p.m. from the First Reformed Church. The Reverend A. Haverkamp officiated. Burial Was in the Oakwood Cemetery.
