Mary Gilderbloom was born in Pella, Iowa, August 30, 1868, to Elizabeth and John Gilderbloom, and died at her home near Olivet, Iowa, June 14, 191. She accepted Christ and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Pella at an early age. Later her membership was transferred to the First Baptist Church of Knoxville, where it still remains. Much of her early life was devoted to Sunday school and young people's work. She was married to John C. Nossaman October 12, 1901, to whom she remained a devoted wife until the end. Her kindness and patience made her a mother to the motherless and a friend to the friendless alike. She leaves to mourn her departure, the husband and three foster children, Gertrude, Edward and Isabel. Five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Top of Oberlin, Kansas; Mrs. Anna Mullins, Lexington, Mo.; Mrs. Ollie Hites, Beacon, Iowa; Mrs. Fannie Hudson, Halloway, Mich.; Mrs. Alta McKenzie, Harvey, Iowa; and three brothers, John Gilderbloom, Lake Andes, S.D.; Alec Gilderbloom, Bach, Iowa; and M.E. Gilderbloom, of Cape, Colo. Her multitude of other relatives and friends share the deep grief of the immediate family. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday, June 16th, conducted by Rev. H. Bruin, of Pella. Interment was made at Portergrove cemetery.
