Death of Mrs. Sarah Nossaman
On last Wednesday morning while Mrs. W. W. Nossaman was walking around her home she was suddenly taken with heart disease and fell dead. The deceased was 72 years old at the time of her death, but had suffered considerably from affections of the heart the past two years. She was one of the oldest settlers in Pella, having come to this place when the country was wilderness, and she and her husband took care of the weary travelers as they came to look for locations in and around Lake Prairie township. Many live in this neighborhood who owe her gratitude for shelter and food during those wild days of Iowa. In her death she leaves ten living children to mourn their loss, with scores of true and tried friends. The funeral services were conducted from the Baptist church on last Friday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock after which the remains were followed to their last resting place by multitudes of mourning friends. She has gone but is not forgotten.
