Renaud, Ruth Arlene (Elwood) - 1927-2015

Ruth Arlene Elwood, daughter of Thomas Gilbert and Sarah Ellen Beem Elwood, was born March 6, 1927, near Monroe, Iowa. She was taken into foster care at Colfax, Iowa, after her mother passed away. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1946. After high school she worked for Iowa Power and Light until she was united in marriage to Wayne Edmund Renaud on April 11, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. They adopted a great niece, Bronwyn A. (Bunny) Williams, a crippled, but happy, little girl in 1965. Bunny passed away on August 19, 1967, at the age of 11 years. Then on April 2, 1968 their son, Thomas Wayne Renaud, was born. They farmed in the Reasnor, Colfax, Prairie City, New Sharon and Tracy, Iowa areas all their lives. In July of 2003 they retired and moved to Pella, Iowa, where Wayne passed away on December 25, 2003. Ruth continued to live in her home until she had a stroke on March 8, 2015, and passed away at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella on April 27, 2015, at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her son Thomas Wayne Renaud of Bussey, Iowa; and one brother-in-law, Howard Renaud of Pella, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. Renaud; her parents, Thomas and Sarah Elwood; two brothers: Robert Edward Elwood and Gilbert Elwood; five sisters: Margaret (John) Breuklander, Dorothy Miller Renaud, Martha (Harold) Ginther, Luretta (Jacob) Stiernemann, and Lois Hobbs Albee; and her parents-in-law, Aaron J. and Lena Versteegh Renaud. She was saved as a young girl and was in happy fellowship with Those Gathered to the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ at 1812 Washington Street in Pella, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held
Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.
Berean Baptist Church, Pella, Iowa
Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery at Pella, Iowa

Visitation will begin Thursday afternoon at the Van Dyk- Duven Funeral Home where the family will be present Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

For those desiring, memorials may be given for the Bible Truth Publishers or Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella, Iowa.
