JOHN ELLIOT

Some of the more elderly people of Pella may remember John Elliott, who was, for many years an actor and a gifted singer. He was the brother of Mrs. Ben Blommers (Nina Elliott) of Pella.

A wire to Mr. and Mrs. Blommers on Wednesday, December 12th told of Mr. Elliott's death at Hollywood, California, where he made his home of late years. His death came as a result of a heart ailment. He had fallen in August of this year and fractured a hip but had fully recovered and had returned to his apartment. His age was 80 years.

John Elliott, the son of Jehu and Sarah Elliott, was born at Keosauqua, Iowa in July of 1876. He married Cleo Kelly of Pella in 1900. Two children were born to them, twins both of whom died as young people. Mrs. Elliott also passed on. Later he married Edith Fassett of New York City, who also passed on. His only surviving near relative is Mrs. Ben Blommers of Pella.

Mr. Elliott lived first at Omaha, Nebraska, then in New York City and last in Hollywood, California. All this time he followed the theatre, vaudeville, legitimate plays and last parts in western films for the movies.

Funeral services and burial were in Hollywood.
