James DeKruyff

OTLEY, Iowa – James DeKruyff, 57, of Otley, died of cancer, Thursday, July 31, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this morning at the Otley Reformed Church. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

The Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials to the Otley reformed Church Building Fund will be accepted.

The son of Peter and Elizabeth Van Dyke DeKruyff, he was born Dec. 7, 1939, near Kellogg. He attended school through the eighth grade.

He married Lila Van Genderen Jan. 17, 1964, in Sully.

A resident of Kellogg from 1939 to 1953, he lived on a farm near Otley since 1953.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Duane of Pella and Daryl of Otley; a daughter, Diane of Otley; three grandchildren; three brothers, Billy of Kanawha, Peter “Junior” of Otley and Paul of Pella; a sister, Helen Den Hartog of Pella; and his Mother.
