Anna Van Der Kamp

PELLA – Anna Jelsma Van Der Kamp, 85, of Pella, a former resident of Sully, died Friday, March 22, at the Pella Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sully Community Church.

The Rev. Maurice Dunker of Ames will conduct services. Burial will be in Sully Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Sully Garden Chapel Funeral Home.

Memorials to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella or the Wycliff Bible Translators will be accepted.

Survivors are three daughters, Vivian Van Der Kamp of Tucson, Ariz., Shirley (Mrs. Gerrit) Van Hal of Leighton and Lois (Mrs. Marvin) Schmelzle of Webster Grove, Mo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie (Mrs. Wayne) Mc Bride of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, Nov. 2, 1984, five brothers, Louis, John, Charles, Herman and Carl Jelsma, and three sisters, Bess, Sue and Gertie.

Mrs. Van Der Kamp was a member of the Sully Community Church.

The daughter of Arend and Jennie Petersma Jelsma, she was born Aug. 4, 1905 in Jasper County.

She was married to Ernest Van Der Kamp Nov. 25, 1926 in Newton.

Mrs. Van Der Kemp, who had resided on a farm in the Sully area, moved to Hilltop South of Pella in October, 1988. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 25 Mar 1991.
