PELLA – Elizabeth Duinink Van Vark, 86, of Pella, a native and former resident of Jasper County, died Wednesday, April 10, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Third Reformed Church in Pella.

Dr. Delmar D. Thiesse, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. James H. Van Roekel, associate pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Family visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

Memorials to Hospice of Pella or the mission fund of the Pella Third Reformed Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Charles G.; three sons, Merlin J. and Bryce C., both of Pella, and Donald E., of Monroe; two daughters, Mary Lois (Mrs. Marion) Van Zee of Pella and Wanda Ruth Van Vark of Newton; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Clara (Mrs. Roy) Van Haaften of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Arnold “Ed, “ John and Leonard Duinink; and four sisters, Maggie Vander Leest, Nellie Vander Werff, Jeanetta Van Heukelom, and Lena Mol.

Mrs. Van Vark was a member of the Pella Third reformed Church and the church’s Ladies Aid.

The daughter of Dirk and Mary Monster Duinink, she was born Feb. 11, 1905 near Reasnor and attended Rose Hill Rural School near Galesburg.

She resided on a farm with her parents until moving to Pella in 1929.

She was married to Charles G. Van Vark Jan 22, 1930 in Pella and the couple moved to a farm in Mahaska County near Peoria.
