Mary Ann was born July 19, 1922 near Albia, Iowa to Charles and Ilo Allen Busick.

She attended country school in Monroe County.

On October 14, 1940 she married Carl Umble and they were blessed with three children: Daisy, Larry, and Karen.

Mary Ann enjoyed being outside. You would often see her working in the garden with her flowers and vegetables, or helping Carl in the fields. She loved her family and always enjoyed her children and their families visiting at the farm.

Mary Ann passed away June 19, 2009 in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 86 years and 11 months.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl, and nine siblings.

She is survived by her children: Daisy (Mel) Tyler of Pahrump, NV, Larry (Colleen) Umble of Dallas, IA, and Karen (Gary) Mitskoff of Lyman, SC; 9 grandchildren: Teresa Nighswander, John Hlad, Steven Hlad, Joseph Hlad, Tammy McBride, Lorie Johnson, Julie Tickle, Lynnette Washington, and Carl Wade Mitskoff. Seventeen great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister Treva Spindler of Deadwood, SD also survive.
