Services for Tina Starckovich, 40, will be Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church in Melcher-Dallas. Family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.

Tina was born February 4, 1969 in Knoxville, Iowa to Leland and Anna Anderson.

She graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School in 1987 and then DMACC in 1988 as a Medical Assistant. She had worked as a Medical Assistant for Des Moines Surgical Affiliates and the Pleasantville Clinic before working in the chiropractic clinic in Knoxville for Dr. B.D. Lange for the last 14 years.

Tina was married to Jerry Starckovich at St. John's Lutheran Church in Melcher-Dallas on December 9, 1989. They were blessed with three children: Clayton, Danielle, and Austin. Tina lived for her children's activities. She was at every event and even coached the 6th grade boys' basketball team. She enjoyed reading, sometimes finishing a book in just a few hours, and she liked camping and the outdoors as well. Tina was described as being a hard worker, but not a good cook, she left that to Jerry. Most importantly she was a caring and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

Tina passed away August 23, 2009 from complications of a stroke.

She was preceded in death by her father Leland Anderson.

She will be missed by her husband, Jerry Starckovich; children: Clayton, Danielle, and Austin; mother Anna Anderson; siblings: Mike (Jen) Anderson of Perry, Beverly Ford of Des Moines, Lisa Anderson of Des Moines, and Tammy (Mark) Herold of Melcher-Dallas; nieces: Hannah, Angie, Stacey, LeAnn, and Amber; and many relatives and friends.
