Donald Frank Dixon was born in Knoxville on July 20, 1925, to Frank D. and Grace S. (Kading) Dixon.

Don graduated in 1943 from Knoxville High School. After graduation Don was drafted into the Navy, serving in the South Pacific.

When he returned home he worked for the Bellamy Telephone Company where he met his wife Ruth, who also worked there. They were married in 1951 in Knoxville. In 1953, Don and Ruth began farming.

The Dixons sold their farm and moved back to Knoxville in 1977. Don was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Knoxville Odd Fellows Lodge. He was an expert in woodworking and particularly enjoyed working with walnut furniture.

Don passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2007, at The Village, in Indianola, at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, and sister, Dorothy.

Those left to honor his memory include niece; Mary (Ron) Walker of Knoxville, their children; Lauren (Matt) Augustin, Ryan and Adam, nephew; Robert (Lisa) Owens of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, their children; Sarah, Emily, and Hannah as well as other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services were held at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, with Rev. Neil Montz officiating
