Kenneth was born on Sept. 17, 1922, in Centerville, the son of Jesse and Maude Cook Coulson. He graduated from Cincinnati High School in 1947.

He married Pauline Swarts on Aug. 29, 1943. They lived their entire married lives in Marion County. Kenneth retired from Ver Meer Manufacturing in Pella in 1985 after many years of service.

He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending summers on the fishing bank.

Kenneth passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, at the age of 85.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Larry and his wife. Rosemary and Darrell, and his wife, Bonnie; and one sister, Iola Haines, and her husband, Olaf.

Kenneth is survived by four sons, Eugene (Faye) of Pleasantville, David (Debbie) of Runnells, Curtis (Pat) of Jackson, N.C., and Dennis (Lori) of Pleasantville; two daughters, Diane Dexter (Mike) of Knoxville, and Lori Balmer (Curt) of Pleasantville; two brothers, Bill (Anne) of Knoxville, and Floyd (Helen) of Russell; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 28 at the Pleasantville Cemetery with Pastor Bill McSpadden officiating.
