Kieler, Michael Lee 1941-2007

Michael Lee Kieler was born Jan. 16, 1941, in Des Moines, the son of Kenneth and Hildreth (Hohl) Kieler.

Michael attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959.

He was united in marriage to Betty Niswender on Nov. 18, 1959 in Des Moines. Michael worked as an electrician for the past 42 years.

Michael was a member of the Pleasant Lodge #128 A.F. & A.M., IBEW #347, the Booster Club, Saddle Clubs and 4-H. He enjoyed little league, attending ball games, car racing, camping, road trips, trips to Canada fishing for 19 years and also hunting for many years. He and Betty enjoyed square dancing together. Michael loved spending time with his family especially his beloved grandchildren.

Michael passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital at the age of 66.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Tom Kieler and Larry Kieler.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Betty; daughters, Deb Kieler and Jeremiah Patton, Susan and Shawn Matthews; two grandchildren, T.J. and Stacey Matthews all of Swan; sister, Lauretta and Guy Kaplan of Coloma, Wis.; brothers, Bill and Nancy Kieler of Des Moines, Rick and Kathy Kieler of Bevington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He will be missed by many.

Funeral Services were held at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville on Aug. 15 with Celebrant Danielle Grace. Internment was in the Swan Cemetery.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasantville Booster Club or to the Pleasantville Little League.
