Randall Rose was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Attica, the son of Glen and Mary Harvey Rose. He graduated from Attica High School in 1939.

He married Dorothy Cleair on June 1, 1947. Both worked for and later owned Avery's Hardware Store in Knoxville for 45 years.

Randall was a longtime member of the Knoxville Rotary Club, Knoxville Ambassadors and Attica United Methodist Church. He also played on the Attica Fast Pitch Softball Team for many years.

Randall died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at his home in Knoxville, at the age of 83.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 1996 and one granddaughter.

He is survived by one daughter, Marcia Rose of Greenville, S.C., three sons; Ron, Denny (Terry) and Don (Shari), all of Knoxville; one brother, Dick, and his wife Darlene of Knoxville, seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 2 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville with Pastor Steve Bagby officiating. Internment was in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials in Randall's honor can be made to the Save Our Stadium Committee.
