Robbins, Mary Darlene (Boatwright) 1925-2006

Mary Darlene Robbins was born on Aug. 2, 1925, in Des Moines to Amos and Odessa (Dawson) Boatwright.

On April 20, 1940, she married Charles E. Robbins, Jr. in Unionville, Mo. The couple made their home in Warren and Marion counties for most of their married lives.

She was president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles. She enjoyed reading, dancing, games, and puzzles. Children of any age were Mary's greatest joy in life. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mary passed away on Sept. 3, 2006, at the Pleasantville Care Living Center at the age of 81.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Haug; siblings, Ruby Dennis, Amos Boatwright, Pheobe Wright, Alpha Sorlie and Jim Quinette and one great-grandson Creighton Fetters.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Charles (Nancy) Robbins of Knoxville, Mary (John) Rodda of Pleasantville, Tom (Linda) Robbins of Milo, Jeannie (Jesse) Ramirez of Pleasantville, Pat (Richard) Sallman of Indianola and Bob (Karen) Robbins of Indianola; siblings, Neva Coughran of California, Walter Quinette and Naomi Hartfield both of Winterset, Odessa Westlake of Des Moines and Georgie Branchcomb of Murray, 34 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 6 at Mason Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Buchner officiating. Interment was in Pleasantville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or to the Pleasant Care Living Center.
