PELLA — Helen Tomljenovich, 92, of Pella died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pella. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella is handling arrangements.

Visitation is planned Tuesday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary will be at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials will be accepted to Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville.

Helen V. Kulesza, the daughter of Peter and Victoria Kulesza, was born December 25, 1913 in Lackawanna, New York. She passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville, at the age of ninety-two years, five months, and twenty-four days.

Funeral services were held, June 21, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Helen spent most of her time in New York. On October 18, 1933, Helen was united in marriage with John Tomljenovich. To this union, two sons were born: John W. and Edward. For over fifty years, Helen owned and operated a shoe store. In 1982, John and Helen moved to Pella and become members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. John passed away on July 23, 1989.

Helen is survived by her sons and their wives: John W. and Isabel Tomljenovic of Pella and Edward and Janet Tomljenovic of Florida; Six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: and a brother and his wife, Ted and Esther Kulesza of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Victoria Kulesza; her husband, John Tomljenovich; three brothers, Zenon, William and Edward Kulesza; and three sisters: Laura Szczepanski, Frances Tomiak, and Lottie Gonsiorek.
