Paul Yang was born on November 8, 1983, at the Pella Community Hospital in Pella, Iowa. He was the fifth of nine children born to Fang Sue Yang and Xai Vue, an immigrant family from Laos.

Paul was diagnosed with Down's Syndrome and other special health problems at the time of his birth. Paul's father Fang Sue, nursed Paul as a young child. Paul attended school in the Pella Community Schools and graduated from Pella High School in 2004. Paul led a very active life and enjoyed playing the drums and watching television and movies.

Paul passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, March 26, 2006 at the age of 22 years, 4 months and 18 days.

Surviving him are his father; Fang Sue Yang, his mother, Xai Vue, four brothers: Hosea & Lasalu, both of Fresno, CA., Abraham and Jacob Yang, both of Pella, IA., and four sisters: Va Yang of Pella, IA, A Zanoni of Albia, IA, Mai Yang of Fresno, CA, and Kao Mee Yang of Pella, IA. Paul, an Uncle to 2 nephews and 1 niece, leaves a large extended family as well. Paul and his family have been attending the Covenant Reformed Church in Pella where he was received as a covenant child. Paul made his family very happy and they were very proud of him. He will certainly be missed by his family and others whose lives he has touched.
