Henry (Hank) Van Wyngarden, age 81 passed away on July 4, 2006. He was born October 8, 1924 to Jacob and Julia (Stursma) Van Wyngarden in Fulton, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Angie (Klyn) and their five children, Jerry (Carole) Van Wyngarden, Lowell Van Wyngarden, Marla (Donald) Carter, Russell (Diane) Van Wyngarden and Mark (June) Van Wyngarden. Also surviving are grandchildren, Halcott Carter, Katherine Van Wyngarden and Jeffrey Van Wyngarden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Tresa Bandstra. Of his family three sisters survive, Cornelia Buitenwerf, Wilma (Doyle) Vande Lune, and Bernice (Gerald) Kole, also nieces and nephews.

At the age of two, his parents moved to Pella, Iowa. His career was in the horticulture field, mainly with flowers. As a boy and young man he worked with his father, the owner of South Pella Greenhouse. After his service in the Army he returned to his work in the greenhouse and became part owner.

In 1956 he accepted a position as grower in a large greenhouse in Palo Alto, California. In 1958 he became a sales representative for George Ball of West Chicago, Ill calling on greenhouses in the Pacific Northwest. In 1970 he changed to Yoder Bros. of Barberton, Ohio, adding Montana and British Columbia, Canada to the area he covered. In 1985 he retired from selling and did consulting work for five years.

Entombment will be at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA., following a private family service in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent in his memory to KAPS - Kidney Auxiliary of Puget Sound, 1005 Pacific Ave, Everett, WA 98201.
