Thomas William Hall was born on June 27, 1922, in Pershing to Henry and Sophia (Dooley) Hall.

Tom served in the Army three years during World War II. He enlisted in Rockford, Ill. on Sept. 13, 1942, serving with the 22nd Infantry Campaign in France and Germany, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was honorably discharged in November 1945.

On April 19, 1946, he married Betty Robuck in Knoxville. The couple moved to Kenosha, Wis. in 1948, where Tom worked as a die setter for American Motors for 30 years. During their marriage, the couple traveled extensively around the United States. Betty died on Jan. 9, 2003, at which time Tom moved back to Knoxville.

Tom died on April 18, 2006, at the Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville at the age of 83.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and three sisters, Ruth Guenzani, Ethel Noel and Margaret Hedrick.

Survivors include his brother, Richard (Janice) Hall of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held on April 21 at Graceland Cemetery with Rev. Joel Picard officiating.

Military Honors were accorded by the United States Army and the American Legion Baty-Tucker Post No.168.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.
