Blind Boone's Famous Watch

There is evidence from some old newspapers that the citizens of Oskaloosa, Iowa, presented a pocket watch to the pianist, John W. "Blind" Boone. This presentation was made prior to 1890, as Boone is possession of a watch by this year that chimes the minute, quarter hour and hour. I am searching for any inforamtion about this watch and the citizens who gave it to Mr. Boone.
