EDDYVILLE - Delbert Jennings Taylor, 70, of Eddyville, died Friday, May 2, at his home in Eddyville. The funeral service was held this morning at 10:30 a.m. at Eddyville Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Highland Cemetery in Eddyville. Memorials are open.
Delbert Jennings Taylor was born March 27, 1927, in Delta, to Wilbur and Lottie Wiseman Taylor. He married Virginia Arlene Puder on June 18, 1949, at Sigourney. He was a self-employed carpenter, farmer, and bus driver for Eddyville Community School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Parkview Bible Chapel in Eddyville.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, Joe of Oskaloosa, Dan of Rose Hill, Johnny of Indianola, Tommy of Eddyville and Timmy of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Sherri Taylor of Dallas, Texas, and Sara Fry of Gasport, N.Y.; and 14 children. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Darlene.
