NEW SHARON - Dale Jesse Boomershine, 87, of New Sharon and formerly of Rose Hill died Tuesday, Nov. 9, at New Sharon Care Center.
The body was cremated. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Rice Cemetery, west of What Cheer, Keokuk County, the Rev. James Finn of New Sharon Assembly of God officiating. Memorials: Rice Cemetery.
Mr. Boomershine was born Oct. 26, 1912, in Mahaska County to Clair and Lillian (Recktenwald) Boomershine. In 1931, he married Margueritte Stephenson. They later divorced. On Oct. 23, 1976, he married Edna Clark in Lancaster, Mo. He was a farmer. In his younger years, he worked on bridge construction. He also worked on culvert construction and tiling.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Boomershine of New Sharon; two sons and their wives; Gerald and Shirley Boomershine of New Sharon and Danny and Connie Boomershine of Carmel, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Beulah Thompson of New Sharon; three stepsons: Derrell Clark of Barnes City, Raymond Clark of Brookfield, Minn., and Kenneth Clark of Salt Lake City, Utah; 17 stepgrandchildren; several step-great grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Boomershine; a granddaughter; and a sister, Thelma Dugger. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
