Audrey Neomi Fleming, 76, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, June 21, at Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Lanny Tuttle of Central United Methodist Church officiating. Burial: Forest Cemetery. Visiting hours are open today at the funeral chapel, with family present 7-8 this evening. Memorials: William Penn University.
Neomi Fleming was born March 28, 1924, in Lacey to Arthur and Effie White Hanna. She married James L. Fleming April 19, 1943. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper at Kresge's Five and Dime Store, and was employed in the business office of William Penn College for 32 years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa, and was a member and past worthy matron of Oskaloosa Chapter No. 146, Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Fleming of Oskaloosa; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Donna Fleming of St. Charles, Ill.; two granddaughters; and two sisters, Verga Mick and Maxine Cameron, both of Oskaloosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Lee "Dick" Fleming; and a sister, Mary Stainbrook. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
