Raymond A. Hanna, 75, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, June 9, at his home in Oskaloosa. His funeral service was 1 p.m. today, June 12, at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial: Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, with military rites by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. posts. Memorials: Mahaska Hospice.
Raymond A. Hanna was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Mahaska County to Clair W. and Fern DeWitt Hanna. He served in Germany during World War II. On March 7, 1949, he married Betty McCartney in Oskalosoa. He drove a truck all of his life, and for 23 years drove a truck for Oskalosoa Concrete Products; he retired from there in January 1991. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. in Oskaloosa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hanna of Oskaloosa; a son and a daughter-in-law: Jon R. and Connie Hanna of Oskaloosa; a granddaughter, Wendy Hanna of Oskaloosa; a sister and brother-in-law: Deloris and Marvin Moody of Eddyville; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Ervin and Marcene Hanna of Cedar and Elwood and Bev Hanna of What Cheer; a sister-in-law, Donna Hanna of New Sharon; and an aunt, Agnes Beatty of Oskaloosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Hanna; and a sister in infancy, Margaret Hanna. (The Oskaloosa Herald, date unknown)
