Victoria (Catron) Legvold, 52, of Oskaloosa died Sunday at Mahaska Hospital.
Funeral services: 10:30, Wednesday, First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa. Burial is in Forest Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8, Tuesday evening at Garland-Van-Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
Victoria Louise Legvold, daughter of Harold and Desiree Partridge Catron, was born Oct. 16, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a 1973 graduate of Indianola High School and a 1991 graduate of Indian Hills Community College. She married Nolan E. Pierson. Nolan died in 1987. She worked as a nursing assistant at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville and at C.D.S. Global in Des Moines, where she was a J.C.L. Technician. Vickie married Lars C. Legvold October 1, 1993. One of her most cherished moments in the last six months was her participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the fact she was surrounded by her family and friends who also participated in the relay efforts with her.
Vickie’s family incudes her husband, Lars Legvold of Oskaloosa; her sons: Eddie (Jill) Pierson of Oskaloosa and Marc Anthony Louis Pierson of New Sharon; her step-sons: Michael B. Legvold and his fiancée, Janelle Ball of Attica; Lars C. Legvold, Jr. (Amanda) of New Sharon; and Carey J. Legvold of Oskaloosa; ten grandchildren; her mother, Desiree J. Catron of Indianola; a brother, Steven (Deb) Catron of Ackworth, IA; and her sisters: Angela (Lonnie) Shannon of Milo; Marsha Grandstaff of Indianola and Patricia (Paul) Young of Ackworth.
