Funeral services for Ralph E. Kruseman, 81 of Leighton, who passed away , Sept. 4, were held Sept. 8 at the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Leighton. The Rev. Dean Ulmer officiated.

Burial services were held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Leighton. Military rights were given by Van Veen-Van Hemert post of the American Legion.

Ralph was born February 1, 1922 in Mahaska County, the son of Edward Conrad "E.C. " and Tonetta Pothoven Kruseman. He served in the United States Army during World War II from October, 1944 until discharged in November of 1946. Following his discharge, he returned to Leighton and farmed the family farm, which he later purchased and continued to farm until 2000, when he moved to Oskaloosa. On January 15, 1952, he was united in marriage to Eunice Rempe at her parent's home in Mahaska County near Leighton.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Reformed Church in Leighton, then the Veen-Van Hemert Post 89 of the American Legion in Pella, and the Red Rock Thrashers Club.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice of New Sharon; a son and his wife: Tom and Linda Kruseman of Leighton; a daughter and her husband: Janet and Jon Overbergen of Leighton; 4 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister: Minnie Nunnikhoven.
