Mrs. Ava Irene Hite, 75, of 512 S. A St., died early this morning at her home. She was born Sept. 30, 1906 in Mahaska County, the daughter of L. G. and Grace Sarver Faulkner. She was a school teacher in the New Sharon area for many years. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Hite, of Oskaloosa; three brothers, Roy Faulkner and Melvin Faulkner of Oskaloosa and Howard Faulkner of Story City; one sister, Mrs. Willard (Wilma) Playle of Kirksville, Mo. and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be at the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. Memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church. Powers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
