Nellie Allgood (1879 - 1903)

"Nellie," wife of Fred Allgood died at their home 1 mile west of Rose Hill Ia., on May 23, 1903 aged 24 yr. and 19 days. Mrs. Allgood was the oldest Daughter of C.W. and Roe Reed, of Monroe Township this county she was both May 4th 1879. Married to Fred E. Allgood March 20, 1898, to this union one child was born, that died when 2 years old. Mrs. Nellie Allgood was a woman that was a great favorite with her many friends and neighbors. She had been one of the "HERALD" Correspondents for years often writing from Mauch Chunk, she was a lady that will not only be missed in the community when she lived. The funeral was held at the Wymore church on Monday by Rev. L. F. Ellsworth and interment in Wymore cemmetry (sic), the burial casket was furnished by our new Undertaker Mr. E.E. Mapper (or Happer) and was of the "steel gray plush" and as fine as could be made. The bereaved friends and husband have the sympathy of this entire neighborhood.
