Elnora L. "Sis" Robbins, 77, of Oskaloosa, and formerly of Rose Hill, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with Pastor Dave Barnard officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery near Rose Hill. Honorary bearers will be Tammy Smith, Brea Lobberecht, and Keelie Peterson; and casket bearers will be David and Dennis Lee, Brian and Brandon Bos, Chad Smith, and Chad Lobberecht. Visitation will begin Saturday after 3 p.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on SUNDAY 1 - 3 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice.

Elnora Robbins was born August 27, 1925, in Rose Hill, the daughter of William and Blanche Winegardner Simpkins. Elnora graduated from the Rose Hill High School, with the class of 1942. On August 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to William D. Robbins at Rose Hill, and he died April 23, 1995. They owned and operated Careless Clara's Cookie Coop in Rose Hill for many years, and she also worked as a cook at Platime Supper Club for over 20 years. Lastly, she worked as a cook at Stonehenge Supper Club until retiring in 1987. She moved into Oskaloosa in 1995. She was a member and past president of the Oskaloosa Lady Eagles.

Elnora is survived by a son: James Larry (& Liz) Bos of Cedar Rapids; daughters: Ardis Bos Lee of Yorkville, Illinois, Jacque Lynn (& Clark) Vanderwilt of Oskaloosa, and Susan Kay (& Pete) Peterson of Blakesburg; 7 grandchildren: Tammy (& Chad) Smith, Brian (& Angie) Bos, Brandon (& Kelly) Bos, Dennis (& Sandy) Lee, David (& Debbie) Lee, Brea (& Chad) Lobberecht, and Keelie Peterson; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: James Ike Simpkins in California, Robert Simpkins in Florida, Richard Simpkins in Alabama, and William Max Simpkins of Ankeny; and 4 sisters: Shirley Brown, Bev McVay, Lois Rinderknecht, and Kate Graham, all in Arizona.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son: William Dean Robbins, Jr.; a sister: Barbara DeWitt; and a brother: Don Simpkins.
