Kenneth O. Anderson, 78, of Ames, died Thursday, Dec. 27, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. His funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 31, at Collegiate Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Kent Organ officiating. Burial: Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames. Memorials: Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, or the Iowa State University Foundation. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements. Kenneth O. Anderson was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Oskaloosa to Oliver and Bess Moore Anderson. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School, and from Iowa State University with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He served in the United States Navy Reserve and retired as a commander. He married Martha Coover on MAy 19, 1948, in Ames. He worked for General Electric in Erie, Pa., and retired in 1984. He lived in Erie for 40 years and had lived in Ames since 1989. He enjoyed family, music and traveling. He was a member of the ISU Foundation Board of Governors, ISU Alumni Band, Sigma Chi Fraternity and Noon Ames Rotary. He was an elder at Collegiate Presbyterian Church and served on the church board of trustees. He was a member of Heartland Bank, AIOFA, and served on the Ames Zoning Board of Adjustment.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, of Ames; three children: Christine M. Anderson of Ankeny, Michael Kenenth Anderson of West Lafayette, Ind., and Lynn C. Anderson of Summit, N.J.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. (The Oskaloosa Herald, January 4, 2002, p. 5)
