Wilma M. Wass, 89, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday night, May 26, 2005, at Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa. She was born June 7, 1915 in Mahaska County, the daughter of William C. and Emma McKissick Hite. She was married to Alford D. Mott, and he died on March 15, 1955. From 1954 until 1959, she worked at the old Continental Overall Factory in Oskaloosa. On June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Henry Wass at Oskaloosa. She worked in the food service department at William Penn College for 38 years, retiring in 1998. In retirement, at the request of the students, she and Henry worked in the recreation room at the college until earlier this month. She was a member of the College Avenue Friends Church, and active in ladies groups at the church. Wilma was a member of T.O.P.S. for over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting and needle craft, and attending William Penn sporting events and the fellowship of the students at the college.

Wilma\'s family includes her husband, Henry Wass of Oskaloosa; a son and his wife, Carroll and Vicky Mott of Muscatine; two grandchildren: Todd A, Mott and Ambra (& Dean) Terry; five great grandsons; a brother, Lester Hite of New Sharon; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her first husband, Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Gary M. Mott; and many brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Wilma Waas will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 1 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with Pastor Kelly Kellum officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa. A memorial has been established in her name. Visitation will begin Tuesday after 10 a.m. and the family will be at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
