Allen Reitsma, son of Dirk and Dieuwke Reitsma was born October 1, 1909, at St. Jacobi Parochie, Holland. At the age of twenty years, he came to the United States and settled in Wentworth, South Dakota, on March 1, 1930.

He was united in marriage on February 16, 1935 to Esther Catherine Jones at Flandreau, South Dakota. To this union two children were born, Karol Lue at Wentworth, South Dakota and Robert Burdette at New Sharon, IA.

They made their home at Wentworth, South Dakota, until March 1, 1937, when they moved to Barnes City, Iowa in which vicinity they lived until the time of Mr. Reitsma's passing, on March 27, 1943.

Funeral services were held at the Taylor Funeral Home, Sunday, March 28, 1943 at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. B.A. Fieselmann officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Emory Grosenbach sang "In the Garden" and "The Touch of His Hand on Mine."

The body was taken to Wentworh, South Dakota, on the early morning train, Monday morning where burial will take place.
