Funeral services were held for Martha (de Vries) Dankert, Saturday, September 25, 1976, 2 p.m., at Hardens Funeral Home in New Sharon with the Rev. Roscoe Varble officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Clyde Gorsuch, Walter Van Wyhe, Dick McGriff, Walter Smith, Raymond Mitchell, and Ferris Seaverns.

The musical selection "Abide With Me" was provided by Mrs. Glen Boughton.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Jessie Mitchell, Mrs. Clara Troy, Mrs. Mable Cummings and Mrs. Lewie Clements.

Martha Dankert was born July 8, 1888, in St. Anna Parochie, Holland, the daughter of Klaas de Vries and Marijke Wassenaar de Vries. She passed away September 22, 1976, in her home in New Sharon at the age of 88 years.

She was married May 12, 1910 to John Dankert in Holland coming shortly to Canada and then to make their home in New Sharon. She was a member of the New Sharon Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Dankert is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Otis (Marie) Stout of Perry, Iowa and Mrs. Alvie (Sadie) McGriff of Montezuma; one son, Henry Dankert of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Sidney de Vries of New Sharon.
