Sidney de Vries, 98, formerly of New Sharon, died Friday, May 17, 1991, in Alameda, California.

He was born October 29, 1892 to Klaas and Marijke (Wassenaar) de Vries. He married Della Fleener on April 2, 1919. She died on November 24, 1983.

He farmed in the New Sharon area for over 60 years. He moved into New Sharon upon retirement, and for the past few years lived in California.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Lesher of Hayward, California, two grandchildren and two nieces, Sadie McGriff of New Sharon and Marie Stout of Perry.

Funeral services were held at Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon, with the Rev. David Pinkerton officiating. Burial was in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.
