Sadie McGriff, 80, formerly of the Montezuma and New Sharon areas, died Thursday, March 31, 1994, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Harden Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Clark of the New Sharon First Christian Church officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon.

Sadie was born April 24, 1913, near Lynnville, the daughter of John and Martha (deVries) Dankert. She married Alvie McGriff in 1937 in Newton. He died on May 18, 1982. She had been a homemaker, and a cook for the Montezuma School District for a number of years. She had recently moved to Carbondale, Colorado to be near her sister and other family members. She was affiliated with the First Christian Church of New Sharon.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three infant sons; and a brother, Henry "Hank" Dankert.

She is survived by a sister, Marie Stout of Carbondale, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
