New Sharon Star, New Sharon, IA, July 9, 1987

Henry Dankert, age 70, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away during surgery in Duluth, Minnesota, while on vacation on June 27, 1987.

He was born near Sully, Iowa on April 10, 1917, the son of John and Martha (deVries) Dankert. He farmed in the New Sharon and Montezuma areas in the 1940's.

He was married to Louise Hamilton on July 30, 1939 in Montezuma. He and his family moved to Colorado Springs in 1951, where he worked at office bookkeeping jobs for 25 years.

In his retirement years, he and his wife traveled from Colorado, to Michigan to Arizona yearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters: Beverlee Reinking of Holland, Michigan; Trudy Parsons of Colorado Springs; and Judy Bos of Germany; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Sadie McGriff and Mrs. Marie Stout, both of New Sharon.

Memorial services will be held in New Sharon at a later date.
