Funeral services were held for Lorena Louise (Hamilton) Dankert, aka Lorraine Gensmer, 80, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Saturday, January 27, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment was in Olivet Cemetery in Mahaska County, Iowa. Arrangements were made by Mountain View Mortuary, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Memorials can be sent to First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She died January 23, 2001 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Lorena was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on May 6, 1920, the adopted daughter of Robert W. Hamilton and Pearl May (Tandy) Hamilton-Briney.

Lorena worked in administration with local newspapers. She married Henry John Dankert, July 30, 1939, Montezuma, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Trudy Parsons.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverlee DeJonge and Judy Bos-Parsons; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
