Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” March 25, 1892:
Nonnogeniarian [sic] Dead.
EDDYVILLE, March 22–Sabbath Star B. Riggs died in this city, at the advanced age of nearly ninety years. The deceased had been a long but patient sufferer, having been partially paralyzed some months ago. He bore his bodily affliction with meekness and Christian fortitude, longing for the time to come that was to relieve him from all earthly suffering. He was a highly esteemed and exemplary citizen and passed away not only full of years but full of the honors of a well spent and useful life. Notwithstanding the extreme inclemency of the weather the funeral was largely attended yesterday from the Congregational church at which impressive services were held by Rev. S.B. Ross and W.H. Jones. Among the children surviving are our fellow townsmen, A.W. and A.S. Riggs.
(Mr. Riggs is buried in Highland Cemetery, Eddyville, Iowa.)
