Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” November 17, 1930

ZOANN KUSSART.

Word was received here today of the death at Goodland, Kan., of Zoann Kussart, 4-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Kussart, formerly of Ottumwa. Mr. Kussart was sheriff of Wapello county at one time, and, prior to that, was deputy sheriff under Henry Richards, now chief of police.

The death of the Kussart baby was sudden as the child and Mrs. Kussart had but recently been visiting relatives in Des Moines and Eddyville, returning to their home in Goodland last Thursday. Death was due to spinal meningitis. Besides her parents, the child is survived by her grandparents, Mrs. Florence Thayer of Eddyville and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kussart of Des Moines.

(Note: Zoann is buried in the Highland Cemetery aka Eddyville Cemetery, in Mahaska County.)
