Mrs. James I. (Verla) Rae, 90, formerly of Delta, died March 5, 1980 at Manor House Nursing Home in Sigourney.

She was born June 20, 1889 in Fremont to Eli and Alice Sarvis Pearson. She lived most of her life in Delta and was a member of the Delta Christian church. She married James I. Rae in 1910 in New Mexico.

Survivors include one son, Rex E; one daughter, Mona Evans; and three sisters, Nellie Leathers, Blanche Odem and Mrs. Leo Pearson.

Services were held Saturday at the Delta Christian church with the Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial was in Tioga cemetery near Rose Hill.
