Joyce D. Jones, 50, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1996, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. J. D. Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation is open at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 tonight. A Joyce Jones Memorial Fund has been established.

Mrs. Jones was born July 23, 1945, in Riverside, Calif., the daughter of Paul and Helen Johnson Kitchen. She grew up in Fairfield, graduated from Fairfield High School in 1963, and attended Parsons College. On April 16, 1965, she married Robert D. Jones in Fairfield. She was employed in the medical records department at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville for the past two years and had been employed as a secretary for Area Education Agency for 14 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, was a Sunday School teacher and member of the church choir.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Randy of Hutchinson, Minn.; a daughter, Amy Lewis of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Paul Kitchen and Frances Martin of Fairfield; three sisters, Janet Roberts and Marilyn Turner, both of Fairfield; and Carolyn Wellings of Oskaloosa; two stepbrothers, John Martin of Milan, Ill., Dean Martin of Warner Robins, Ga.; and a stepsister, Nancy Buckingham of Springfield, Mo. Her mother preceded her in death.
