Clark dies at 65

Raymond G. Clark, 65, of 709 South 5th, died at 9:20 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in charge of Rev. David R. Kennedy. Burial will be in Highland cemetery at New Sharon. The family will receive friends at the Raymond Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Clark was born August 21, 1913 in Saybrook, Ill. the son of Ralph Leo and Pearle Tillie Tipsod Clark. He was reared and educated in the New Sharon, Eldon, Floris and Bloomfield communities. He was employed in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are three sons: Carrell DeWayne, Barnes City, Iowa; Raymond Junior, Gladbrook, Minn., and Kenneth Roger of Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Beulah Maxine Thompson, New Sharon; three brothers, Gerald, Harlan, Iowa; Paul of Albia and Charles of Fremont and three sisters; Frances Riggs, Barnes City; Mary Whitehead, Fremont and Lucille Blakley of Fairfield. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
