Coenders Rites Set

Services for Mrs. Tesse Coenders, 93, 1100 E. Adams, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. Coenders died Monday at Parkview Care Center where she had resided since Nov. 16, 1974.

Last rites will be conducted by the Rev. J.E. Dorman. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at New Sharon.

Mrs. Coenders was a longtime resident of this community. She was born July 11, 1883 in Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Bottenily Crippen. She was married to Martin Coenders June 8, 1925 at New Sharon.

Mr. and Mrs. Coenders owned and operated two local businesses; the Victory theater on E. Broadway and Coenders Flower Shop. They retired in 1948.

Mrs. Coenders was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in Oskaloosa. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1974. One brother is also deceased. She is survived by several cousins.
