Mary E. Stringfellow Vallandingham (1820-1886)

Mary E. Stringfellow, mother of J.W. Stringfellow and sister of Rev. G. M. Vallandingham, of this place, died at her home in Adams township last Saturday, aged 65 years last October. She was born in Kentucky in 1820, came to Iowa in (illegible but believe it reads 1851) and has lived on the farm where she died ever since (illegible but believe it reads 1852). She has been a member of the Predestinarian Baptish church since she was (illegible but believe it reads 16) years old. She leaves four grown children and many relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Her remains werer interred in the Wymore cemetery last Sunday afternoon.
