Emry Funeral At Fremont

MARTINSBURG - Sterling Albert "Red" Emry, 68, retired machine operator, died Thursday evening at his home in Martinsburg.

Last rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Fremong Funeral Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Martinsburg.

Sterling A. Emry was born Oct. 13, 1904, in Batavia, the son of Fred and Mamie Copeland Emry. He had lived in the Martinsburg community the past 40 years. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union.

His marriage to Margaret Morrow took place Feb. 9, 1927. She died Nov. 24, 1970.

Survivors include two sons, James, Ottumwa, and Robert, Martinsburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; along with three brothers, Austin, Brighton; Clark, Keokuk; and George who resides in Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
