MATEER – Albert Mateer, age 82, of 415 Fourth avenue east, died Thursday, March 21, at 3:20 p.m. at Mahaska hospital. A retired farmer, he was born Oct. 4, 1880.

Surviving are: the wife, Blanche Mateer; two daughters, Mrs. Ione Timmerman and Mrs. Walter (Erma) Cover of Oskaloosa; a son, Elvyn Mateer of Sheffield; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Gerald L. Dalbey of Des Moines and Orvis N. Dalbey of Springfield, Ill. and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Gerard of Waterloo.

Services will be at the Newman funeral chapel Monday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Wymore cemetery. Rev. J. W. Hansen of the Free Methodist church will officiate.
