Barbara Ann WIGHTMAN, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jake WIGHTMAN was born October 13, 1859 in Dubuque, IA, moving to Cedar, IA, when a small child. In 1876 when she was seventeen years old her mother died leaving her the care of six children, the youngest just eleven months. She stayed in the home and mothered this family until Jan. 13, 1881 when she married Wm. MOULTON. To this union was born eight children. Three are deceased. The living children are Harry, Udell, IA; Mrs. Eva SHIPLEY of Des Moines; Clyde, Des Moines; Jake, Los Angeles, CA; Ethel, Milwaukee, WI. There are also eleven grand children, a brother Jake WIGHTMAN in California, sisters, Minnie JOHNSON, Montana; Kitty FOX, Cedar, IA and one half-brother and half-sister, Charlie WIGHTMAN and Ida PICKENS, both in California.

The deceased passed away Feb. 21, 1922 at the age of sixty-three years after a few hours illness. At the age of eighteen she united with the Methodist church.

The funeral was held on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. George E. Purdy of the Christian church. Miss Smith and Miss Kirk furnished the music. Interment in Forest cemetery [Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA].
