The Montezuma Republic, May 19, 1960. Obit: Thrown by Horse, Stevie RICHIE dies from Head Injuries. Stevie RICHIE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Richie, Gibson, was fatally injured Sunday when thrown from a horse. Stevie was thrown when his mount shyed at some blowing paper. He was rushed to an Iowa City hospital where his injuries were diagnosed as double concussion. He died Tuesday without regaining consciousness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at the Whyle Funeral Chapel, What Cheer, and burial will be in 16 Cemetery.
